Perfect Gluten Free Gravy

Gravy is much missed by those of us on a gluten free diet. Most 'just add water' gravy granules contain gluten but it's very easy to make from scratch and in this video I'm going to show you how. Download the recipe here
Ingredients
GF = Gluten free
*Check that it's gluten free on the label
Meat juices
2 tbsp liquid meat fat
30g/1oz plain GF flour
570ml/1 pint stock*
2 tsp gravy browning (optional)
Method

When the meat is cooked, collect the juices and the fat from it. Put them in a glass jug and stand for a few minutes until the fat rises to the surface. Wrap the meat in foil and store in a warm place

Skim the fat off the meat juices and keep separately

Put the roasting tin used to cook the meat on the hob on a medium heat and add the fat.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

Use a wooden spoon to stir in the meat juices dispersed all over the surface of the pan. Gradually stir in the stock until you get a smooth gravy

Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes or until you get the consistency that you like in a gravy

Season to taste and add a little gravy browning if desired.
